( As on 14/11/2019 14:45) Sensex, Nifty hold gains; ICICI Bank, Infosys top gainers

Indian benchmarks continued to trade in positive terrain during the noon trading session led by Infosys, Hexaware Tech and HCL Tech while metal stocks remained under pressure. Meanwhile, WPI surprised the market by shying away from market expectations of 0 percent, however it continued to slump in October to 0.16 percent from 0.33 percent in September. The deflation in wholesale prices signals that there is still lack of demand in segments like manufacturing, metals, chemical products.



On the corporate front, Shares of Lux Industries rallied 13 percent intraday on November 14 after company reported strong earnings growth in quarter ended September 2019.Hosiery products maker Lux Industries reported a 95.5 percent year-on-year growth in Q2FY20 consolidated profit at Rs 41 crore on revenue of Rs 352.4 crore that grew by 27.2 percent YoY.



Among others, shares of Muthoot Finance surges 9% on strong Q2 results and the company was trading close to its all-time high level of Rs 718 touched on October 31, 2019.The company’s net interest income (NII) jumped 32 per cent YoY to Rs 1,467 crore against Rs 1,114 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Net profit rose 77 per cent to Rs 858 crore from Rs 484 crore in the year-ago quarter.



At 14:26 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 40197.98 up by 81.92 points or by 0.20% per cent then NSE Nifty was at 11843.7 up by 3.25 points or by 0.03 per cent. Sensex touched intraday high of 40348.61 and intraday low of 40026.99 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11895.65 and intraday low of 11802.65.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 707.35,+2.33%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 496.05,+2.11%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 4207.00,+1.53%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7243.75,+1.23%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 3229.05,+0.76%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1364.00,-3.53%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 143.50,-3.20%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 76.25,-2.87%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 166.70,-2.29%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 362.60,-1.60%), among others.



Among the sectors, BSETECk index was at 7428.57 up by 39.11 points or by 0.53%. Sun TV Network Ltd. (Rs. 491.40,+4.51%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 707.35,+2.33%), Inox Leisure Ltd. (Rs. 362.00,+2.06%), Dish TV India Ltd. (Rs. 13.66,+1.34%), Just Dial Ltd. (Rs. 517.00,+0.94%),.



Whereas, Metal index was at 9327.19 down by -188.38 points or by -1.98%. National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 41.85,-3.79%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 143.50,-3.20%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 36.95,-2.38%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 188.75,-2.30%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 98.50,-2.23%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2733 , shares advanced were 1036 while 1512 shares declined and 185 were unchanged.
