( As on 13/09/2019 09:47) Sensex off opening lows, Nifty at 11,000

Benchmark indices are trading higher in Friday's early morning session after a flat opening, lifted by gains in metal and autos.



CPI inflation in August increased to 3.21 percent against 3.15 percent in previous month whereas Industrial output in July came in at 4.3 percent against 2 percent growth in previous month.



Global cues also supported the D-street to recoup losses as global markets surged as hints of progress in the US-China trade dispute and aggressive stimulus from the European Central Bank helped to counter worries about a global economic slowdown.



At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at SENSEX was at 37192.74 up by 88.46 points or by 0.24 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11000.45 up by 17.65 points or by 0.16 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 37244.34 and intraday low of 37029.52 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11001.35 and intraday low of 10961.95.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6480.40,+1.39%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 59.30,+1.19%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 825.30,+1.10%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1470.60,+0.90%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 546.55,+0.88%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 65.55,-3.53%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2252.00,-0.81%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 345.55,-0.55%), State Bank of India (Rs. 285.60,-0.44%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 2075.00,-0.38%), among others.



Among the sectors, Auto index was at 16507.88 up by 162.4 points or by 0.99%. Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd. (Rs. 107.35,+4.02%), Ashok Leyland Ltd. (Rs. 63.70,+1.92%), Bosch Ltd. (Rs. 14020.00,+1.71%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6480.40,+1.39%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 547.50,+1.05%),.



Metal index was at 8924.96 down by -37.99 points or by -0.42%. Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 105.30,-1.77%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 33.25,-1.63%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 195.75,-0.71%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 196.35,-0.68%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 213.35,-0.44%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1261 , shares advanced were 794 while 425 shares declined and 42 were unchanged.
