( As on 11/09/2017 12:27) Mid-Session: Sensex up 200 points; Nifty reclaims 10k mark

The key domestic benchmark indices continued its gaining momentum during the noon trading session supported by buying in frontline blue-chip counters amid firm global cues.



At 12:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31896.63 up by 209.11 points or by 0.66 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 10008.6 up by 73.8 points or by 0.74 per cent.



Traders reacted positively to the outcome of the crucial meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council that took place on Saturday, where the council cut GST rate for over 40 items of mass consumption. On the global front, Overseas, Asian shares edged higher after North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un decided to hold a party over the weekend rather than launching another missile.



In the bullish trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 31926.74 and intraday low of 31797.89 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10012.8 and intraday low of 9968.8.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1202.75,+2.60%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 214.80,+2.51%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 8108.00,+1.70%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1815.85,+1.56%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1224.00,+1.43%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 400.00,-0.79%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 878.60,-0.66%), State Bank of India (Rs. 270.60,-0.50%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 291.45,-0.19%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 470.50,-0.12%), among others.



Among the sectors, CGS index was at 18007.43 up by 353.45 points or by 2%. Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 17.00,+5.26%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 1340.20,+4.55%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1202.00,+2.53%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 130.85,+2.39%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 499.60,+2.36%),.



On the flip side, TECk index was at 5606.97 down by -3.69 points or by -0.07%. Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 227.55,-1.37%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 3500.55,-1.32%), Idea Cellular Ltd. (Rs. 78.85,-1.13%), PVR Ltd. (Rs. 1353.00,-1.02%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 400.00,-0.79%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2674 , shares advanced were 1584 while 927 shares declined and 163 were unchanged.
