The key domestic benchmark indices continued to extend gains during the late morning trade tracking positive signals from Asian markets after North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un decided to hold a party over the weekend rather than launch another missile.
At 11:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 31854.94 up by 167.42 points or by 0.53 per cent, while the NSE Nifty was at 9989.1 up by 54.3 points or by 0.55 per cent.
Traders reacted positively to the outcome of the crucial meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council that took place on Saturday, where the council cut GST rate for over 40 items of mass consumption.
In the bullish trade so-far, Sensex touched intraday high of 31874.13 and intraday low of 31797.89 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10000.55 and intraday low of 9968.8.
