Stock Market Technical Analysis | 8th to 14th Sep 2025 Weekly Wrap

Indian equity markets extended gains with Nifty closing above 25,100, supported by strong moves in defence and select large-caps, even as FIIs remained sellers. Here’s your weekly wrap of key market movers, sector trends, and derivatives outlook.

Equity
- Benchmark Index traded with positive bias in the previous week before closing with 1.51% gain at 25114 level. Banking Index lagged the benchmark index as it closed with 1.28% gain at 54809 level.
- Among the Nifty constituents, BEL and BAJFINANCE outperformed the benchmark index as they closed with 7.69% and 7.00% gains while TRENT and TITAN underperformed as they closed with 7.21% and 2.55% cut respectively. Among the Bank Nifty constituents AXISBANK outperformed the benchmark index as it closed with 4.68% gain while INDUSINDBK underperformed as it closed with 2.19% cut.
- Among sectors, NIFTYDEFENCE index outperformed the benchmark index during the previous week as it is closed with 7.00% gain while NIFTYMEDIA index underperformed as it closed with 0.04% gain. Broader market outperformed the benchmark index as both MIDCAP index and SMALLCAP index closed with 2.02% and 1.90% gains respectively.
- Volatility index (India VIX) closed with 5.68% cut at 10.12 level.
- FII were net sellers as they sold stocks worth Rs 3,578 Cr while DII were net buyers as they bought stocks worth Rs 13,703 Cr during the previous week in the cash segment.
- Globally, equity markets traded with positive bias as both US market (DJIA) and European markets (STOXX 600) closed with 0.95% and 1.03% gains respectively.

- Derivatives data for NIFTY suggest max OI addition at 25150 call and 25100 put with max OI at 26000 call and 25000 put side (16th Sep expiry). Nifty cumulative PCR closed at 1.29 for Sep 12.
- Derivatives data for BANKNIFTY suggest max OI addition at 55000 for both call and put with max OI at 57000 call and 54000 put side (30th Sep expiry). Bank-nifty cumulative PCR closed at 1.05 for Sep 12.
