Markets ended the week mildly positive with mixed sector cues and a sharp rise in volatility. Let’s decode how sectors, FIIs/DII flows, and derivatives data may shape near-term movements.

Equity
- Benchmark Index traded with positive bias in the previous week before closing with 0.61% gain at 26068 level. Banking Index performed in line with the benchmark index as it closed with 0.60% gain at 58868 level.
- Among the Nifty constituents, MAXHEALTH and EICHERMOT outperformed the benchmark index as they closed with 7.07% and 6.56% gains while TMPV and ADANIENT underperformed as they closed with 7.40% and 3.75% cut respectively. Among the Bank Nifty constituents FEDERALBNK outperformed the benchmark index as it closed with 3.72% gain while IDFCFIRSTB underperformed as it closed with 2.61% cut.
- Among sectors, NIFTYIT index outperformed the benchmark index during the previous week as it is closed with 1.61% gain while NIFTYREALTY index underperformed as it closed with 3.78% cut. Broader market underperformed the benchmark index as both MIDCAP index and SMALLCAP index closed with 0.76% and 2.22% cut respectively.
- Volatility index (India VIX) closed with 12.40% gain at 13.42 level.
- FII were net sellers as they sold stocks worth Rs 188Cr while DII were net buyers as they bought stocks worth Rs 12,969Cr during the previous week in the cash segment.
- Globally, equity markets traded with negative bias as both US market (DJIA) and European markets (STOXX 600) closed with 1.91% and 2.21% cut respectively.
Derivatives
- Derivatives data for Nifty suggest max OI addition at 26100 call and 22800 put with max OI at 27000 call and 26000 put side (25th Nov expiry). Nifty cumulative PCR closed at 1.03 for Nov 21.
- Derivatives data for Bank-nifty suggest max OI addition at 59000 call and 58400 put with max OI at 60000 call and 57000 put side (25th Nov expiry). Bank-nifty cumulative PCR closed at 0.96 for Nov 21.
