In October 2020, Monarch AIF achieved a noteworthy milestone by successfully launching its inaugural fund under the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) umbrella—the MNCL Capital Compounder Fund. This closed-ended, long-only Category 3 equity scheme made a remarkable debut, securing an impressive Asset Under Management (AUM) of Rs 70 crore directly from marquee corporates and Ultra High Net Worth Individual (UHNI) investors, all without the involvement of intermediaries. The accomplishment served as a testament to the firm's capacity to raise funds, driven by robust relationships with investors independently. The fund's unique investment strategy further enhanced its attractiveness. After a tenure of 2 years and seven months, the fund was pre-closed in May 2023, returning 100% of the capital to investors with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 23.5% (post all fees and expenses).
