Markets stayed range-bound with selective sector rotation, while broader markets continued to show resilience despite banking weakness.

Equity

• Benchmark Index traded volatile in the previous week before closing with 0.42% gain at 23998 level. Banking Index underperformed the benchmark index as it closed with 2.19% cut at 54863 level.
• Among the Nifty constituents, SUNPHARMA and TECHM outperformed the benchmark index as they closed with 11.60% and 8.47% gains while SHRIRAMFIN and AXISBANK underperformed as they closed with 7.31% and 7.15% cut respectively. Among the Bank Nifty constituents INDUSINDBK outperformed the benchmark index as it closed with 8.03% gain while AXISBANK underperformed the benchmark index as it closed with 7.15% cut.
• Among sectors, NIFTYPHARMA index outperformed the benchmark index during the previous week as it closed with 3.05% gain while NIFTYPSUBANK index underperformed as it closed with 3.73% cut. Broader market outperformed the benchmark index as both MIDCAP index and SMALLCAP index closed with 0.69% and 2.50% gains respectively.
• Volatility index (India VIX) closed with 7.76% cut at 18.18 level.
• FII were net sellers as they sold stocks worth Rs 13,772 Cr while DII were net buyers as they bought stocks worth Rs 11,585 Cr during the previous week in
  the cash segment.
• Globally, equity markets traded with positive bias as both US market (DJIA) and European market (STOXX 600) closed with 0.55% and 0.15% gains
  respectively.

Derivatives

• Derivatives data for Nifty suggest max OI addition at 24000 call and 23200 put with max OI at 25000 call and 23000 put side (05th May expiry). Nifty
  cumulative PCR closed at 0.98 for Apr 30.
• Derivatives data for Bank-nifty suggest max OI addition at 55000 call and 50000 put with max OI at 60000 for both side call and put side (26th May expiry). Bank-nifty cumulative PCR closed at 0.90 for Apr 30.
