( As on 13/09/2019 12:40) Mid Session- Indices trade flat; Metal stocks decline

The Indian benchmark indices have turned volatile in the afternoon session on Friday, with gains in auto and realty stocks offset by losses in metal, pharma and public sector bank stocks.



Among others, the shares of SRF rallied 2 per cent after IDFC Securities has initiated coverage on the stock with an outperform call and target price at Rs 3,347 per share, implying 23.5 percent potential upside from current levels.



On the flip side, the shares of Glenmark Pharma dipped more than 4 per cent after global brokerage house CLSA maintained its sell call on the stock amid weak earnings and high debt concerns.



At 12:31 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37105.05 up by 0.77 points or by 0 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 10980.35 down by -2.45 points or by -0.02 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 37244.34 and intraday low of 37000.09 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11023.85 and intraday low of 10945.75.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 550.85,+1.67%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2773.50,+1.32%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1475.65,+1.25%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2883.80,+1.12%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 406.95,+1.04%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 65.70,-3.31%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 342.50,-1.42%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 360.00,-1.23%), State Bank of India (Rs. 283.90,-1.03%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2252.95,-0.76%), among others.



In BSE, BSE Realty index was at 2058.47 up by 27.74 points or by 1.37%. Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 561.95,+3.36%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 710.40,+2.15%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 162.85,+2.00%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 309.90,+1.81%), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (Rs. 404.25,+0.79%),.



In BSE, BSE Metal index was at 8927.03 down by -35.92 points or by -0.4%. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 32.90,-2.66%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 360.00,-1.23%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 196.20,-0.76%), JSW Steel Ltd. (Rs. 220.75,-0.63%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 106.75,-0.42%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2408 , shares advanced were 1200 while 1072 shares declined and 136 were unchanged.
