( As on 25/04/2019 13:35) Sensex up 99 pts; Yes Bank rallies 4%

The Indian equity indices trading in positive terrain in the afternoon session on Thursday. The shares of Yes Bank rallied 4 per cent intraday on April 25 after a media report indicated that there could be some rejig at top management level. The bank is scheduled to announce results on April 26.



At 13:19 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 39153.74 up by 99.06 points or by 0.25 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11774.2 up by 48.05 points or by 0.41 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 39262.22 and intraday low of 39009.72 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11796.75 and intraday low of 11715.95.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 245.65,+2.72%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1405.50,+1.12%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 327.75,+1.00%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1715.15,+0.88%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 134.95,+0.86%), among others. On the other hand, the top losers of the BSE Sensex were Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 171.20,-2.09%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 517.65,-1.46%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 729.20,-0.98%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6964.20,-0.86%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 465.15,-0.85%), among others.



Among sectors, Oil&Gas index was at 15088.95 up by 108.12 points or by 0.72%. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 277.90,+3.56%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 358.20,+2.78%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1405.50,+1.12%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 155.40,+1.04%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 180.85,+0.53%),. On the flip side, TECk index was at 7828.22 down by -41.37 points or by -0.53%. Bharti Infratel Ltd. (Rs. 277.10,-8.29%), Reliance Communications Ltd. (Rs. 1.81,-4.74%), Vodafone Idea Ltd. (Rs. 16.50,-4.07%), Dish TV India Ltd. (Rs. 35.85,-2.98%), Tejas Networks Ltd. (Rs. 184.90,-1.91%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2530 , shares advanced were 1235 while 1124 shares declined and 171 were unchanged.
