( As on 16/11/2017 15:49) Post Session: Sensex ends 346 pts higher, Nifty up 1%; IT, Teck stocks support

The Indian benchmarks ended higher in a broad-based rally on Thursday, led by value-buying in select blue-chips, tracking firm cues from Asian peers. All the sectoral indices ended in green, with IT and Teck stocks emerging as top gainers on BSE, rising as much as 2.16 per cent to 1.87 per cent, respectively.



The 30-share benchmark index closed at 33106.82, up by 346.38 points or by 1.06 per cent, and the NSE Nifty ended at 10214.75, up by 96.7 points or by 0.96 per cent.



In the bullish trade, the Sensex touched intraday high of 33165.15 and intraday low of 32829.82, while the NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10232.25 and intraday low of 10139.2.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 988.60,+3.85%), State Bank of India (Rs. 333.45,+2.54%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 902.45,+2.27%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 415.25,+1.63%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 176.70,+1.58%), among others.



On the flip side, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 398.00,-2.27%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 269.85,-0.94%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3649.00,-0.72%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 3200.65,-0.36%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1176.15,-0.06%), were among top losers on the BSE.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was strong. On BSE out of total shares traded 3016, shares advanced were 1757, while 1076 shares declined and 183 were unchanged.
