( As on 11/09/2017 14:14) Sensex up over 200 pts, Nifty tops 10K; IndusInd Bank up nearly 6%

The key domestic benchmark indices extended gains in the afternoon deals with the Nifty50 trading above its crucial 10,000 mark thanks to gains in banking, auto and capital goods stocks.



In addition, the investors in Asia reacted with relief after North Korea did not conduct another missile test this weekend, when it celebrated its founding anniversary. Furthermore, the pan-European Stoxx 600 was 0.46 per cent higher shortly after the opening bell, with all sectors and major bourses in positive territory.



At 14:05 hours, BSE SENSEX was at 31918.49 up by 230.97 points or by 0.73 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 10018.15 up by 83.35 points or by 0.84 per cent.



Shares of IndusInd Bank, which today said that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Bharat Financial Inclusion to explore merger opportunities, surged nearly 6 per cent to a 52-week high of Rs. 1,799.10. It was also the top gainer among the 51 shares in Nifty. Shares of Bharat Financial Inclusion also jumped nearly 4 per cent to a 52-week high of Rs. 979.



The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 31952.87 and intraday low of 31797.89. The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10023.25 and intraday low of 9968.8.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1207.00,+2.96%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 215.50,+2.84%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1827.60,+2.21%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 8143.55,+2.14%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1225.20,+1.88%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 400.15,-0.76%), State Bank of India (Rs. 269.95,-0.74%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 290.20,-0.62%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1289.10,-0.43%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 881.70,-0.31%), among others.



Among the sectors, BSE_CGS index was at 18049.85 up by 395.87 points or by 2.24%. Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 17.00,+5.26%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 1338.60,+4.42%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1207.00,+2.96%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 131.30,+2.74%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 499.00,+2.23%).



On the other hand, BSETECk index was at 5616.03 down by 5.37 points or by 0.1%. Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 226.20,-1.95%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 3495.85,-1.46%), Idea Cellular Ltd. (Rs. 78.85,-1.13%), PVR Ltd. (Rs. 1351.50,-1.13%), Inox Leisure Ltd. (Rs. 240.40,-0.78%).



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2827, shares advanced were 1564 while 1095 shares declined and 168 were unchanged.
