( As on 11/09/2017 13:15) Sensex rises over 200 points, Nifty tests 10,000

The key domestic benchmark indices continued its momentum with the Nifty50 reclaiming its crucial 10,000 mark tracking uptrend in global peers after no missile test from North Korea on September 9.



European stocks opened slightly higher, while investors monitored the economic impact of Hurricane Irma. The DAX is up 0.73 per cent while the FTSE 100 is up 0.46 per cent. The CAC 40 was even.



Back home, the record inflows into the equity segment continued. The assets under management (AUM) of equity mutual funds at the end of August came in at USD 111 billion (Rs 7 lakh crore), 5.3 per cent of the total market capitalisation of Indian equities (Rs 133 lakh crore). This is the highest level since July 2000, according to Morgan Stanley Investment Management.



At 13:07 hours, BSE SENSEX was at 31894.99 up by 207.47 points or by 0.65 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 10012.15 up by 77.35 points or by 0.78 per cent.



Among the companies, HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki India, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and IndusInd Bank from the Nifty50 index hit their respective record high on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), after a strong rally in equity market.



The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 31926.74 and intraday low of 31797.89. The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 10013.5 and intraday low of 9968.8.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 215.10,+2.65%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1199.70,+2.34%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 8108.00,+1.70%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1817.40,+1.64%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1224.50,+1.47%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 399.35,-0.95%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 880.40,-0.45%), State Bank of India (Rs. 270.80,-0.42%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 470.35,-0.15%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 3954.55,-0.11%), among others.



Among the sectors, BSE_CGS index was at 17997.65 up by 343.67 points or by 1.95%. Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 17.00,+5.26%), Siemens Ltd. (Rs. 1342.00,+4.69%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 131.20,+2.66%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 499.70,+2.38%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1199.70,+2.34%).



On the other hand, BSETECk index was at 5608.72 down by -1.94 points or by -0.03%. Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 226.65,-1.76%), Idea Cellular Ltd. (Rs. 78.50,-1.57%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 3500.00,-1.34%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 399.35,-0.95%), PVR Ltd. (Rs. 1355.85,-0.81%).



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2738, shares advanced were 1597 while 977 shares declined and 164 were unchanged.
