The Medical Council of India has given permission for establishment of new medical college at Coimbatore titled as "KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research" by Kovai Medical Center & Hospital Ltd for 150 under graduate seats (MBBS) under the affiliation of The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2019-20.
