India has been facing trade issues while trading goods with US and other countries. The department of commerce is planning to postpone the deadline to impose higher duties on 29 goods imported from the United States.
The deadline was set for May 02, 2019 by the Indian government and that too has been extended multiple times whereas there was an announcement made last year in June in the hope of fixing all the trade issues with foreign countries.
The plan of extension has been initiated in respond to the US raising duties on steel and aluminium imports from India and other countries last year.
As per the report, the department has requested to extend the deadline on weekly basis but the proposal did not favour with the finance ministry.
