Ethos Ltd. - Expanding reach, elevating the mix | Q1FY27 Company Update

Ethos reported a robust Q1FY27 performance, with revenue growth exceeding our estimates, supported by healthy store expansion and strong SSSG of 13%. Gross margins also recovered meaningfully, aided by currency stabilization and selective price hikes across brands. Expansion has accelerated, with nine boutiques added in FY27TD following 21 additions in FY26, taking the total network to 103 boutiques. The widening portfolio of lifestyle brands is emerging as an incremental growth driver, with the segment contributing ~7% of consolidated PBT in Q1FY27. Ethos remains focused on selectively onboarding brands that complement its existing portfolio of Messika and Rimowa, while developing new retail concepts and proprietary IP across watches, jewellery and luxury luggage. We believe deeper penetration across key cities, strong brand partnerships, an expanding range of lifestyle brands and accelerated store additions should sustain growth momentum, while margins could improve gradually with currency stabilization and increasing EFTA-related benefits. We largely maintain our earnings estimates and roll forward our valuation to Q1FY29. Given the company’s consistent operational outperformance and improving growth visibility, we raise our target multiple to 45x from 40x.

Strong SSSG, rising ASPs, an improving contribution from luxury and high-luxury brands, and continued new brand additions should support robust topline growth. At the same time, the scaling up of the lifestyle business across categories such as luxury luggage and jewellery is widening the company’s addressable market and creating an additional growth engine. With gross margins recovering and further support expected from currency stability, selective price hikes and EFTA-related benefits, we expect earnings growth to remain strong despite continued investments in expansion.
