Ecos Mobility Ltd - Well-positioned to drive India's corporate mobility growth - Company Update

ECOS Mobility reported a steady Q4FY26 performance, with healthy revenue growth across ETS (Employee Transportation Services) and CCR (Chauffeured Car Rental) divisions, though profitability remained below our estimates. The company continues to benefit from rising corporate mobility outsourcing, increasing GCC presence and healthy enterprise travel demand. However, margins remained under pressure due to higher employee costs, leadership hiring, technology investments and onboarding costs for large clients. In ETS, pricing pressure also impacted profitability, as certain contracts were negotiated at lower rates amid aggressive competition from newer organised players. While near-term performance was partly impacted by West Asia-related travel disruptions, we remain positive on the long-term growth outlook, supported by strong client additions, sticky enterprise relationships, an asset-light vendor-led fleet model and rising preference for organised mobility solutions. However, given repeated disappointment on the margin front and limited visibility on near-term margin recovery, we remain cautious on profitability. Despite this, the recent correction in the stock provides valuation comfort, with the stock trading at less than 10x FY28E EPS. Consequently, we maintain our BUY rating with a revised target price of Rs 255.
Strong revenue growth:
ECOS Mobility reported healthy revenue growth of 16.7% YoY to Rs 2,068mn (MNCL Est- Rs 2,154mn), driven by steady performance across both CCR and ETS business segments. Growth was supported by strong client additions, wallet share gains and healthy trip volume growth during the year. However, management highlighted that business travel demand was temporarily impacted during March due to disruptions arising from the West Asia conflict, though demand trends have recovered subsequently. Additionally, lower average revenue per trip, led by higher share of shorter-distance travel, airport transfers, lower fuel prices and competitive pricing in ETS, restricted overall revenue growth.
Change in product mix and higher employee costs impacts margins:
Gross margin contracted by 176bps YoY to 26.7% (+43bps QoQ), largely due to lower contribution from the high-margin CCR division, which stood at 43% of revenue versus 45% YoY. Further, higher employee costs (+176bps YoY) weighed on operating profitability, leading to OPM contraction of 325bps YoY to 11.7% (+35bps QoQ). EBITDA declined 8.7% YoY to Rs 242mn (+3.4% QoQ), impacted by lower gross profit and higher employee expenses. PAT declined 12.9% YoY to Rs 157mn (+12.9% QoQ), broadly reflecting weaker operating performance during the quarter.
Outlook:
We remain positive on the medium-term growth outlook for ECOS Mobility, supported by rising corporate travel activity, increasing outsourcing of employee transportation and continued expansion of GCCs in India. Growth is expected to be driven by strong client additions, wallet share gains from existing customers and deeper penetration across both CCR and ETS segments. However, near-term profitability could remain under pressure, given pricing pressure in ETS, lower average revenue per trip, onboarding costs for large clients, continued technology investments and elevated employee costs. Moderation in employee and operating cost growth, improving client maturity, better utilisation and operating leverage from scale should support gradual margin recovery over FY27–28E.
Valuation and Risk:
We expect ECOS Mobility to deliver Revenue/EBITDA/PAT CAGR of 16.6%/19.4%/21.2% over FY26–28E, supported by healthy enterprise mobility demand, rising GCC presence, increasing outsourcing of employee transportation and continued scale-up across ETS and CCR segments. However, given repeated disappointment on the margin front and limited visibility on near-term margin recovery, we remain cautious on profitability. Factoring in pricing pressure in ETS, lower average revenue per trip, elevated employee cost and onboarding costs for large clients, we reduce our PAT estimates by 1.7%/3.0% for FY27E/FY28E, respectively. We also lower our target multiple to 18x from 23x, given repeated disappointment on the margin front and limited visibility on near-term margin recovery, we remain cautious on profitability. Despite the cut in estimates and valuation multiple, the recent correction in the stock provides valuation comfort, supported by healthy growth outlook, strong cash balance and clean balance sheet. We value the stock at 18x FY28E EPS, arriving at our revised target price of Rs 255.
