Carysil Ltd - Scaling up growth; Earnings outlook strengthens | Q1FY27 Company Update
Carysil delivered a strong Q1FY27 performance, with revenue coming in ahead of our estimates, supported by robust domestic growth, healthy export demand and improving contribution from stainless steel sinks, faucets and appliances. More importantly, the demand outlook has strengthened further, with the company witnessing its highest-ever export order book, supported by incremental business from Lowe’s, an extended partnership with Home Depot across the US and Canada, initial orders from Amazon US and a new collaborative agreement in Australia/New Zealand. Profitability also remained strong, aided by operating leverage, premiumisation, improving product mix and rollback of US discounts, with management indicating margins are tracking towards the upper end of its FY27 guidance. With core capacities operating at elevated utilisation levels, sizeable capacity additions underway and India emerging as an increasingly important growth engine, we see improved visibility on both growth and profitability and accordingly upgrade our earnings estimates and target multiple. We maintain BUY rating on the stock.
Carysil Ltd. Stock Price Chart
Strong revenue growth:
Carysil Ltd reported strong revenue growth of 15.5% YoY to Rs 2,721mn in Q1FY27 (MNCL Est- Rs 2,588mn). Growth was primarily driven by healthy performance in the Quartz sinks and Stainless-Steel sinks divisions, supported by both volume growth and better realizations. The Quartz sinks division (51% of revenue) grew by 18.7% YoY to Rs 1,342mn, while the Stainless-Steel sinks division (12% of revenue) grew sharply by 44.1% YoY to Rs 317mn. The Solid Surface division (25% of revenue) grew by 12.3% YoY to Rs 655mn. However, the Kitchen Appliances division (12% of revenue) declined by 8% YoY to Rs 309mn.
Margins expand on account of change in product mix:
Gross margin for the quarter expanded by 178bps YoY (-95bps QoQ) to 52.2%, supported by better realizations. OPM expanded by 105bps YoY to 20.4% (MNCL Est – 19.4%), driven by higher gross profit and lower employee expenses, which declined 45bps YoY. Consequently, EBITDA grew by 21.8% YoY to Rs 534mn (MNCL Est - Rs 503mn). PAT stood at Rs 321mn (MNCL Est - Rs 272mn), registering growth of 39.9% YoY, led by better operating profitability and higher other income.
Outlook:
We remain positive on Carysil’s medium-to-long-term growth outlook, supported by strong export order visibility, rising domestic penetration and timely capacity expansion across key categories. The company’s competitive cost structure, integrated manufacturing capabilities and expanding product portfolio continue to strengthen its positioning across global OEM and retail markets. With quartz sink capacity set to increase from 1.0mn units to 1.25mn units by end-FY27E, along with the recently commissioned 70,000-unit stainless-steel sink capacity and further expansion planned, Carysil is well placed to capture incremental demand from large global customers. At the same time, scaling of faucets, kitchen appliances and integrated kitchen solutions should improve cross-selling opportunities and strengthen the overall product mix. On the domestic front, management’s ambition to scale the India business to ~Rs 5bn over the next 3–4 years appears increasingly credible, supported by rapid distribution expansion, rising brand acceptance, growing B2B/project opportunities and increasing consumer preference for organised premium kitchen solution players. We believe this combination of strong demand visibility, capacity-led growth and improving business mix provides healthy visibility for sustained double-digit growth and margin resilience over the medium term.
Valuation and risk:
We factor in a Revenue/EBITDA/PAT CAGR of 16.5%/20.9%/25% over FY26–29E, driven by higher penetration with existing clients, addition of new customers and healthy capacity expansion across key product categories. We upgrade our earnings estimates by 4.4%/ 5.6% for FY27E/FY28E and introduce FY29E estimates and roll forward to Q1FY29E EPS, increase our target multiple to 25x from 22x and value the stock at Q1FY29E EPS of Rs 60 given better earnings visibility and consistent outperformance, arriving at a revised target price of Rs 1,540 (earlier Rs 1,210). Key risks: Delay in order execution, shipment disruptions and sharp rise in input cost.
